Training Objectives

The MSc in Materials Engineering aims to train graduate students that are stakeholders in the country's technological development, with capacity to innovate. Our Master graduate students combine a solid base with a cutting-edge applied technology training, only possible to teach in schools that promote research excellence, such as the Faculty of Science and Tecnology of the University of Coimbra. The main objective of this study cycle is to graduate Master students with skills in this area of knowledge, able to develop activities in the industry, services or research. They must be able to solve problems in materials engineering in its various forms and to adapt themselves to multidisciplinary teams of related areas. They must also meet the skills to pursue further education (3rd cycle). In oder to achieve these objectives, the MSc in Materials Engineering consists of 2 years of study (4 semesters) and several areas of training, such as Engineering Science, Materials Engineering Science, Biomaterials Engineering Science and Industrial Engineering.

Technology Absortion Cycle
